Part art object and part stage, the Drum Crane was created for the spectacle theater company Redmoon Theater. Consisting of four platforms for performers and a 30-foot boom arm which could lift more than a ton (for one event, a grand piano with two performers). The tower spun freely on its 20-foot-diameter track. The entire structure could be disassembled and packed into a single box truck, before being reassembled for the next public event.
